CU Business Intensive Certificate (CUBIC)

Graduates face an increasingly competitive job market where business skills can complement one’s degree and enhance marketability. The MBA & Executive Programs office at the University of Colorado at Boulder is proud to offer the CU Business Intensive Certificate (CUBIC) program.

CUBIC provides participants with a career advantage by delivering an understanding of basic business principles. This three-week noncredit, certification program teaches fundamental business skills to non-business majors. Business topics include accounting, finance, economics, marketing, leadership and management, and personal finance. The learning experience is enhanced through an entrepreneurial, integrated team project that provides real-world applicability to the curriculum.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded a Certificate in Applied Business and will have earned a competitive edge when entering the job market. Courses.

CUBIC is taught by world-class faculty from the Leeds School of Business, which ensures that teaching excellence remains a hallmark of the CUBIC program. Course Details

Dates: Maymester 2008: May 12th-May 30th
Classes are from 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday-Friday
Location: CUBIC is taught on the Boulder campus in the Koelbel Building
Attendance: Students cannot miss more than two days of class
Entrepreneurial Business Plan Challenge: Students will be provided with a rich curriculum dedicated to the core areas of academic business study that will be utilized in developing an innovative business plan for a new product or service. On the last day of CUBIC, teams will present their projects to a panel of experts and their classmates. Projects will be judged and prizes awarded for the most feasible and well constructed project. The world renowned CUBIC and Deming Center Faculty will mentor students to ensure the successful completion of their team projects.
Tuition: $3,300 includes instruction by Leeds faculty; a corporate panel on résumé writing and interviewing skills; lunch and snacks on all class days; and all course materials and textbooks. Limited scholarships are available.
Entry requirements: CUBIC is open to all non-business majors, with a minimum of 60 completed credit hours from any accredited college or university. Recent graduates who received their Bachelor's degree no more than two years ago are also eligible to register for CUBIC.
