1. Multiple Team Submission
a. Schools can submit up to three teams.
i. Each team must consist of four unique team members.
ii. No overlapping of students on multiple team submissions.
2. Team’s composition
a. Teams are to be composed of four graduate students from each participating institution.
i. A minimum of three students must be enrolled in your respective school's MBA program.
ii. The other member may be a student in a graduate program affiliated with your business school.
b. The team MUST consist of the same four students that will compete in the final competition in Boulder, should your team advance.
i. In compelling cases, teams my substitute one member between the First-Round and final competition.
ii. If unavoidable, teams may participate in the final competition with three MBA students.
3. External input
a. NO human input (outside of the four-person team) is allowed. Failure to abide by this policy will be grounds for disqualification
i. This includes, but is not limited to conversations, emails, or other contact regarding the case or deliverable or contact with the company involved in the case.
ii. Schools that submit multiple teams are not allow to consult with other teams.
4. Faculty, Coaches, Advisors, etc.
a. Teams are not allowed to receive input from faculty, coaches, advisors or third-party consultants to aid them in their analysis or deliverables. The participation of faculty, coaches, advisors, etc. or their assistant(s) are grounds for disqualification.
5. Article Material
a. Do not contact the company in the article or anyone directly affiliated with the article. Also, please do not consult faculty members in your article research.
6. Deliverable
a. Each team must use the formatted template PowerPoint that is provided by Leeds in its deliverable for the first round portion of the competition. This means that there will be no added templates, colors, or “decorative” graphics.
b. VERY IMPORTANT!!! The first slide of the template PowerPoint sent to each school will be formatted and coded by the Leeds-Net Impact Case Competition Committee. Alteration of the first slide or of the footer information in subsequent slides of the template PowerPoint will lead to disqualification. Teams may alter the other content and formatting of slides 2 through 12.
c. The PowerPoint presentation that each team creates can contain a maximum of 10 slides, in addition to the rules slide (slide 1), the title page (slide 2), and the certification page (slide 13). Anything beyond 10 slides will not be considered.
d. Teams MUST complete slide 13 by filling in the names of the individuals who researched and created the presentation. Failure to complete slide 13 will result in disqualification.
e. Students MAY NOT reference their school in the PowerPoint in any way. Any reference to your school, including but not limited to logos, school colors, location and names is grounds for disqualification.
f. Due to the limited space, a focus on the facts, rather than glitzy presentation, is expected. In keeping with this philosophy, each slide may contain up to 75 words. Do not use anything smaller than 12-point font. The use of graphs, figures, and tables where appropriate is encouraged.
g. Use of animation is prohibited.
h. Judges will receive only a black-and-white, grayscale printout of each presentation, one slide per page.
i. To ensure that your presentation is legible in this format, you may want to test print prior to submission to Leeds.
7. Judging
a. Presentations will be judged based on your ability to analyze the information presented in the article and clearly and effectively communicate a recommended course of action.
8. First Round Submission
a. Submissions for the first round are due back to us no later than Monday, December 3, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. Mountain time.
